Saying "goodbye" is difficult.
My journey began in October 2009, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After rounds of surgery, chemo, and radiation, I am moving beyond the disease and want to encourage everyone who reads this that you will come through your trials. It may not be cancer, but we're all going through something.

Ten Days and Counting
The countdown begins today.
In ten days, I'll start chemo treatment. For at least the next 20 weeks I expect to be sick, tired and bald.
But when I'm done, I expect to be healthy, energetic and ...hairy.
I better send you the part of the package I have finished. I have not worked on one part since I have a splint on one right hand finger, for about another week. I will try to work on it in spite of the finger.
Dee, atta girl. Chemo makes you feel sick, but in the end, it saves your life, so it is definitely worth it. You WILL be healthy, energetic, and definitely hairy. And you will be around for your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren!
Enjoy the next 10 days and the rest of your life - 20 weeks is a small price to pay for a lifetime. And rely on your friends - that's what we're here for!
